Number of children born

For women aged 15 years and over who stated how many children they had given birth to and identifying with the Albanian ethnic group living in New Zealand on 5 March 2013:

  • 51.6 percent had given birth to one or more children, compared with 56.7 percent in 2006.
  • 6.5 percent had given birth to four or more children, compared with 10.0 percent in 2006.
  • Those born in New Zealand were less likely than those born overseas to have given birth to four or more children, at 0 percent and 6.7 percent, respectively.

No children born

For women aged 15 years and over who stated how many children they had given birth to and identifying with the Albanian ethnic group living in New Zealand on 5 March 2013:

  • The proportion who had not given birth to any children has increased to 45.2 percent, compared with 40.0 percent in 2006.
  • Those aged 15–29 years were most likely to have not given birth to any children.
  • 0 percent of those born in New Zealand and 43.3 percent of those born overseas had not given birth to any children.
