Managing our risk

We updated our risk management framework and it is being implemented. The new framework is consistent with the AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 risk management standard.

The updated framework strengthens our management of corporate risks and continues the focus on delivering our key statistical outputs as a way to manage risks to the Crown.

We are reviewing our Audit and Risk Management Committee to enhance its ability to provide quality independent advice to the Chief Executive.

The work programme for our internal audit function is informed by the high-level risks our Executive Leadership Team identified.

Our Enterprise Programme activity includes project management software that supports risk management – within programme and project activity.

The updated risk management framework supports a common understanding of the risks we face at strategic, operational, and project levels. The framework and associated policy and guidelines will help us develop a risk-intelligent culture and support agile decision-making. The framework will ensure our risk management activity is dynamic and includes active engagement within the organisation and with our external stakeholders. The focus continues to be on how risk management helps the organisation.
