Gross Domestic Product: June 2010 quarter

Highlights

Gross domestic product (GDP):

  • Economic activity was up 0.2 percent in the June 2010 quarter, following a 0.5 percent increase in the March 2010 quarter.
  • Construction activity was up 6.4 percent, while manufacturing was down 4.0 percent.
  • Gross domestic product for the year ended June 2010 was up 0.7 percent, compared with the year ended June 2009.
 On the expenditure measure of GDP:
  • The expenditure measure of GDP was up 0.4 percent in the June 2010 quarter.
  • Household consumption expenditure was flat at 0.0 percent.
  • Gross fixed capital formation was up 6.2 percent.
