Employment Outcomes of Tertiary Education Technical Report and Feasibility Assessment

The Employment Outcomes of Tertiary Education (EOTE) feasibility study explores integrating data on tertiary enrolments and completions, and industry training student records, with the Linked Employer-Employee Data (LEED), in order to test whether the following objectives can be met:

  • provide official statistics and research outputs on the employment outcomes for people who undertake tertiary education and training
  • produce new and improved official statistics on human capital, productivity and economic performance
  • produce research on the ways in which the tertiary education system and the labour market interact, leading to a better understanding of what employers value from the tertiary education system
  • assist government decisions on investment in tertiary education.

This report focuses on the linkage of education data and LEED. More precisely, it investigates whether the linkage is possible from the statistical point of view. It does not investigate data quality issues outside the linkage, which might also impact on the objectives.
