Retail Trade Survey: December 2010 quarter

Highlights

For the December 2010 quarter compared with the September 2010 quarter (seasonally adjusted):

  • Total retail sales volume was down 0.4 percent.
  • Total retail sales value was flat, down 0.1 percent ($12 million).
  • Core retail sales volume was flat, up less than 0.1 percent.
  • Core retail sales value was flat, down 0.1 percent ($11 million).
  • Motor vehicles and parts retailing had the biggest volume decrease (down 8.2 percent), fuel retailing had the biggest volume increase (up 6.4 percent).
