Retail Trade Survey: November 2008

Highlights

For November 2008 compared with October 2008 (on a seasonally adjusted basis):

  • Total retail sales increased less than 0.1 percent (less than $1 million).
  • Core retail sales increased 0.3 percent ($11 million).
  • Motor vehicle retailing sales increased 6.9 percent ($37 million).
  • Automotive fuel retailing sales decreased 7.3 percent ($44 million).
  • Supermarket and grocery store sales increased 2.6 percent ($32 million).

The total retail sales trend has fallen 1.0 percent since the beginning of 2008.
