Retail Trade Survey: November 2010

Highlights

For November 2010 compared with October 2010 (on a seasonally adjusted basis): 

  • Total retail sales rose 1.5 percent ($82 million).
  • Core retail sales were flat, down 0.2 percent ($7 million). 
  • Eleven of the 15 industries rose, only three rose by more than $10 million. 
  • The largest increase was in motor vehicles and parts retailing, up 11.8 percent ($69 million).
  • Supermarket and grocery stores, down 2.8 percent ($40 million), recorded the largest decrease.

The Retail Trade Survey excludes GST.
