Screen Industry in New Zealand: 2008 presents a statistical view of the screen industry. The screen industry includes businesses involved in production, post-production, broadcasting, distribution, and exhibition of screen activities.

The screen industry is associated with innovative and creative activities that help sustain economic growth. The industry is important to New Zealand because of its high growth potential and its ability to drive growth in other industries such as tourism.

Screen Industry in New Zealand: 2008 shows changes in the levels of activities carried out by screen industry businesses. It also shows screen production companies' data broken down by regional activity, sources of funding, and expenditure.

The information presented is based on data collected in August 2008 when the Screen Industry Survey 2007/08 was conducted. The first results from this survey were published on our website in May 2009 – see the Screen Industry Survey: 2007/08. This is the fourth year of this annual survey.

We are grateful for the cooperation of businesses and individuals who participate in the Screen Industry Survey.
