Census of International Trade in Services and Royalties 2011

The Census of International Trade in Services and Royalties measures the amount of services that are imported and exported by New Zealand companies. The 2011 Census is a joint collection between Statistics New Zealand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The information you provide in the Census of International Trade in Services and Royalties questionnaire is used by Statistics NZ to produce New Zealand’s quarterly and annual balance of payments (BoP) and international investment position (IIP) statistics. BoP and IIP statistics are a record of New Zealand’s economic transactions with the rest of the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) uses the information to improve market access and conditions of competition in foreign markets for New Zealand exporters. High-quality information is needed to accurately reflect the interests of New Zealand in trade agreements.
