In September 2015 compared with September 2014:
- Visitor arrivals (217,000) were up 23,700. The biggest changes were in arrivals from:
- Australia (up 10,100)
- China (up 7,500)
- Japan (up 1,200)
- the United States (up 1,000).
- Overseas trips by New Zealand residents (235,600) were up 15,900. The biggest changes were in departures to:
- Australia (up 6,300)
- the United Kingdom (up 3,600)
- Fiji (up 2,800)
- the United States (up 1,700).
In September 2015, seasonally adjusted figures showed a record net gain of 5,600 migrants.
