Privacy impact assessments for the IDI and LBD

Note: We are in the process of migrating content from this page to our new site, www.stats.govt.nz

See:

This page provides links to the privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) and Longitudinal Business Database (LBD).

The assessments are systematic evaluations of the privacy risks associated with integrating data from a number of sources into the IDI or the LBD. They also summarise some of the expected benefits of the IDI and LBD.

When we add data to the IDI or the LBD, we first consider the privacy risks against the potential gains. The benefits must outweigh the risks and any risks must be managed and reviewed regularly.

All assessments are guided by the principles laid out in Stats NZ’s Data integration policy.
