Internet Service Provider Survey – information for participants

Why are you carrying out this survey?

We carry out the Internet Service Provider Survey (ISP) to:

  •  measure the nature of the internet service provider industry in New Zealand
  • help individuals, communities, businesses, and government understand how information and communication technology is changing the economy and society
  • measure the global connectivity of New Zealanders, which is regarded as an important determinant in accelerating economic growth.

Who takes part in the survey? How did you select me?

All 90 businesses in New Zealand supplying internet connectivity services participate in the ISP survey.

When do you carry out the survey?

The survey is carried out every year.

How can I complete the survey questionnaire?

You’ll complete the survey by filling in an online questionnaire. See 'Available files' on this page for information about completing your online questionnaire.

What do I need to complete the survey online?

Most computers and browsers can be used to complete the survey online. The survey has been tested and optimised for the following internet browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 10 and 11
  • Firefox 47.0 and above
  • Google Chrome v51.0.27 and above
  • Safari 5.1.7 and above

The minimum security requirement is using an SSL enabled browser capable of 128 bit encryption.

This survey isn’t applicable to my business. What should I do?

Even if you haven’t provided internet services in the last year, it is important you submit your questionnaire. Please read the questionnaire instructions and complete the first question on internet service provision.
