Calendar year offence statistics

Calendar year population estimates

The estimates in these tables have been derived by New Zealand Police, using data supplied by Statistics New Zealand.

These population estimates may be used to calculate crime rates. The formula for calculating a crime rate is:

(number of offences / population estimate) X 10,000 = crime rate per 10,000 people.
